ABOUT ME

How The Journey Began

the fall

On August 23rd, 2014, I had a traumatic accident where my friends watched me fall off a bridge in our hometown. I had just graduated college and my friends and I had reunited for my friend’s 22nd birthday party and were so excited to be back in the park. I was so excited that I ran onto this bridge that used to be the perfect size for my 10 year old feet. I was 23, with feet double the size, and I lost my balance and started falling backwards. In mid-air I heard a voice that said, “Bitch you bettah catch yoself,” and I turned around onto all fours, catching myself on hands and knees, but my chin kept going. I broke my jaw in three places, broke a bunch of teeth, and shattered my left knee cap. It was that healing process that forced me to reckon with the reality of having a body. I would have gone through life thinking otherwise, that I was just a soul, and a body that had forgotten its wings on a very important night in Radburn Park.

It was then, after being healed by my doctors, surgeons, friends, family, and myself, that I knew I was pushed to learn how to heal myself if I were ever to help others heal themselves. I applied to a dual degree masters program in special education and social work, became a yoga instructor, and started using SnapChat for the first time to record my healing process. I was a soul-driven entertainer you might say, and my following was there for the ride, learning lessons right alongside me and my healing body and spirit. My jaw was wired shut for two weeks and I had to learn the importance of my voice all over again, and maybe for the first time.

Mother Earth was saying that I was no where near done with my journey here on this planet, and quite the opposite, that it was actually just beginning.

The Cards

divine tarot

During the time of my yoga teacher training, when I was becoming more and more acquainted with the physical world as an expression of the spiritual, I encountered another miraculous happening. A deck of tarot cards found me, and I started reading all the time. I’ve now been reading for those five years and credit much of my ability to connect to a higher spirit to this beautiful and ancient practice. Tarot helped me take the first step into the witchier realm and now after receiving the gifts, teachings, and lessons from multiple otherworldly decks, I have given myself permission to combine the healing techniques that helped me and offer them to others.

I still do not know the origin of that first deck I found in my basement, but attribute much auspiciousness for our finding one another.

The deck that I use most often in my work is called Serpentfire by Devany Amber Wolfe at https://www.serpentfire.ca/.

The Offering

What you’ll find in the work

In this work, you’ll find a very special experience called Soul on the Mat. Soul on the Mat meets you exactly where you are and gives you the space to work through what is pressing on your mind, body, and soul by using meditation, breathwork, reiki, yoga, and tarot to give you the space to see yourself more clearly than ever. I offer this experience remotely or in person for 90 minutes and we start by allowing the body to dictate what it needs in that exact moment.

We may begin by breathing in a seated position or lying down and the breath starts to fill up the body organically. I will facilitate the kind of breathing we will do next that will allow a meditative state to take over the mind. Once we’re in a flow of breathing with prana, the life force energy of the universe, we will add small movements to the body. These gentle stretches will awaken parts of the body that are itching for breath, attention, and tender awareness. And again, once in a state of more flow with these body movements, we will add larger movements, add yoga poses, holding some for several breaths and others for as few as needed.

It truly takes care, time, and energetic consciousness to begin to warm the body and allow it to speak to us. In this time, we can also begin to understand how to better listen to the body and help us drop into a feeling of centeredness. This is when I will begin to pull some cards from the deck. The cards that come up will have a clear message and you will be ready to receive their gifts. We will be able to sit with these messages together, wherever we are on our mats, and can begin to engage with the teachings of the cards with an open mind and an open heart.

The teachings of the cards will find their way to different parts of your body, asking you to simply acknowledge where you may be feeling a certain query, statement, or prompt from the cards. This is where I welcome and appreciate a conversation about what is coming up for you during this layered practice. I find the discussions I have with folks on the mat are some of the most honest, sometimes intense, yet incredibly illuminating conversations that I feel blessed to be a part of.

Using reiki, intuition, active listening, and empathy, I will be channeling the messages that need to come up during our time together. I will channel, then interpret, and then further translate these messages for you on your unique journey. I will then offer the actionable steps you can take to make these lessons real for you in this material realm.

I am a teacher and this is my unique education that I feel so grateful to be able to serve to humanity. This work takes practice, so I may offer you homework to help the lessons continue their way into every cell of your body, changing your perspective to one of more perceived control over how you participate in your own life. You deserve to be able to feel all your feelings, they are there for a reason and our ability to experience our own special brand of sensitivity can be our superpower if we let it.

This practice will open doors that we have actively closed, whether we realize we were doing it consciously or not. This practice will let you feel free to forgive yourself and find the courage to give yourself permission to be exactly who you want to be. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone, but you do deserve to take care of yourself in a way that lets your truth be the loudest voice, your courage guide the way, and your authenticity have the fun it’s been begging to experience since the day you were born.
I am so excited for you to join me on the mat and I wish you blessings during every step in getting you back to yourself.
